Time advances again! Britain may ban the sale of fuel vehicles in 2030

Last Updated on November 5, 2022 by SogouAuto

The push to electrify the automotive sector is being driven by advances in battery technology, which has made electric vehicles more affordable and practical for consumers. Electric vehicles are also much cleaner than their gasoline-powered counterparts, producing zero emissions. In contrast, transport is responsible for around a fifth of all emissions in Britain, making it one of the country’s leading sources of pollution.

The British government has already set a target of banning the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2040, but some lawmakers are now pushing for that deadline to be brought forward by a decade. Environment Secretary Michael Gove has said that the government is “committed” to eliminating emissions from new cars and vans entirely by 2030.
